Recipe for the Perfect Dad
If I could make the perfect Dad...........

I'd start off with some love

Add a dash or two of cool
-
Blend with lots of knowledge

Add one cordless power tool
-
Then tons and tons of caring
-
And a big old bag of nice

Sprinkle in some barbecue

And a bottle of old spice
If you mix it all just right, the batter for a perfect dad will taste like wine, then you throw it out cause its all a waste of time, the perfect dad exist.....I know because he's mine

Great Northern Ham and Bean Soup
Ingredients:
- 1 Picnic shoulder ham 4 to 8 lbs depending on family size
- 1-1 Pound bag of great northern beans (clean and soak beans for 12 hours before cooking)
- 1 Cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 Cup chopped celery
- 1 Tablespoon fresh garlic (minced)
- 1 Medium sized onion chop and set aside
- Salt and pepper to taste throughout cooking

Directions:
In large stockpot add shoulder ham and fill pot to top with water. Boil for Approx. 3 hours adding water as needed until ham begins to fall off the bone. Add beans and cook for two hours at low boil. Allow to cook down to 3/4 of the pot and add celery,carrots and garlic. add salt and pepper to taste. Serve and garnish with fresh chopped onions.
Serves: 8

Dads Favorite white cheddar mashed potatoes
Ingredients:

2 Pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
-
2 Ounces butter, unsalted, room temperature
-
1/3 Cup heavy cream
-
1/4 Cup sour cream
-
4 Ounces white cheddar cheese grated
-
1 Teaspoon salt
-
1/2 Teaspoon white pepper

Directions:
Place potatoes in pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and simmer until fork tender. Drain completely. Mix potatoes with an electric mixer until smooth. When smooth add butter and blend. Add cream a little at a time and beat, add sourcream and blend. Add cheese, salt and pepper and blend again. Scrumptious...

Dads Easy Steak and Gravy
Ingredients:
- 1 Pound round steak - tenderized, sliced thin, and fat trimmed but saved
- 3/4 Cup all purpose flour
- 1 Cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Mix flour salt and pepper to taste in a brown paper bag. Add sliced beef and shake to well coat the pieces evenly in flour. In a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat render the trimmed fat scraps. Discard scraps and add sliced beef, cook until well browned. Gradually stir in milk keep stirring till gravy thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over moms favorite biscuits.

Country Style Sirloin and Vegetable Kabobs
Ingredients:

1 Boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch pieces

1 Packet (1 ounce) dry ranch salad dressing mix
-
2 Tablespoons water
-
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
-
1 Medium green or red bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
-
1 Package fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and stemmed

Directions:
In a small bowl combine dressing, water, and oil mix well.
Alternate threading beef, and vegetable onto 4-12 inch metal or wooden skewers. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes prior to using. Brush kabobs with dressing mixture. Place kabobs on grill over medium heat. Grill uncovered, exactly 10 -12 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness. Turn occasionaly.

Yummy Shrimp Tocos
Ingedients:

1-1/2 Cups sour cream
-
1-Oz. pkg. toco seasoning mix, divided
-
1 Cup seedless cucumber mix, divided
-
3 Green onions, thinly sliced (1/4 cup)
-
2 Avocados, peeled and diced
-
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
-
1 Lb. medium shrimp, shelled, deveined, and cooked
-
Butter lettuce leaves, torn
-
2 Cups Wisconsin Colby Jack cheese, shredded
-
1 Cup chunky salsa
-
12 Flour tortillas

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the sour cream and 2 Tbsp. of the toco seasoning mix; mix well. Stir in cucumbers, onions, avocados, and lemon juice.
In a small bowl, toss shrimp and remaining toco seasoning mix together.
Serve family- style with individual bowls for the sour cream mixture, shrimp, lettuce, salsa, and cheese. Top each tortilla with sour cream mixture and shrimp. Garnish with cheese and salsa.

Dad's Favorite Country Doughnuts
Ingredients:

Directions:
Mix all of the above ingredients together in a large bowl. Roll out flat on floured surface and cut out with doughnut cutter. Drop into Fry Daddy deep fryer for about 3 minutes (time may vary, depending on the fryer and your dough thickness). After placing doughnuts on paper towels and cooled slightly, you may shake them in a large baggy of sugar (and Cinnamon) for sugar doughnuts. For cream-filled doughnuts, you can fill with whipped cream or use the following recipe:

Cream Filling Ingredients:

1/2 Cup milk

2-1/2 Tbsp. flour
-
1 Tbsp. butter/margarine
-
2 Heaping Tbsp. sugar
-
1 Tbsp. vanilla

Cream Filling Directions:
Cook all ingredients in saucepan on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. You can then cover the hole you made for filling by melting real chocolate chips or making a chocolate frosting and spreading on top of the doughnuts.

Northern Wisconsin Blue Cheese Chip Dip
Ingredients:

1-1/2 cups small curd cream-style cottage cheese
-
1/4 Tsp. salt
-
1/4 Tsp. pepper
-
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
-
6 Drops hot pepper sauce
-
3 Scallions, sliced
-
1/4 Cup red pepper, diced
-
3 Tbsp. heavy cream
-
1/3 Cup (approx. 2 oz) Blue cheese crumbled

Directions:
In a food processor, puree cottage cheese until smooth. Transfer to a medium bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients; mix well. More cream may be added for a thinner dip.
Chill 2 hours or more to allow flavors to blend.
Serve chilled with vegetables, chips. or crackers.

Dad's Favorite V8 Juice
Ingredients:

12 Lbs. tomatoes (24 lg. sized)
-
1 Cup carrots, chopped
-
1 Cup celery, chopped
-
1 Cup onions, chopped
-
4 Tsp. salt
-
4 Tbsp. lemon juice
-
2 Tsp. Worchestershire sauce
-
Dash of hot pepper seasoning
*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
Directions:
Bring all ingredients to a bowl in a large kettle. Lower heat and cook for 25 minutes. Press through strainer. Ladle into clean quart jars place lids on jars. Process 5 minutes per quart jar in hot water bath. Let cool, check for seal on jar.
Makes: 8 Quarts
